"Together in the Dhamma"
Karuna Buddhist Vihara is celebrating Almsgiving 2020 with the monastic and lay communities. While 2020 has been a difficult year with the pandemic and fire evacuation, we are still inspired to gather together in the dhamma to express gratitude for the teaching and our friendships.
The Ayyas' long-term vision for the Hermitage includes support for monastic and lay visitors in the following ways:
Our first kuti: would provide accommodation for monastic visitors.
A small Shrine Room: Today, there is no space indoors for groups to gather and practice. Our plans include a unique, external shrine building that would enable about 10 people to practice and open up in a way that allows for those indoors and outdoors to practice together.
A downstairs bathroom for lay people and guests to use while visiting.
Please join our international coalition of sponsors in donating to Karuna Buddhist Vihara. Please match our sponsorship this year in the amount of $3500. We hope you will be inspired to go beyond this amount in gratitude for the teaching and friendship of the Ayyas. Together in the Dhamma we can celebrate the teaching, our practice and kalyanamitta.
