My name is Norberto Mantohac. I spent twelve years of my life working for the homeless population; four of which with the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) and the last eight years as an independent contractor for homeless agencies providing services in L.A. It was at LAHSA that I developed a fervent desire to help people who are in crisis in the community.
Over the years, people in L.A. have seen economic hardship as the primary reason for homelessness. The results of the LAHSA’s 2020 Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count showed 66,436 people in Los Angeles County experiencing homelessness. This represents a 12.7% rise from the 2019 homeless count of 58,936.
Having seen homelessness increased in L.A. County, my life objective has changed dramatically. I want to help my community which has been my home for many years. People deserve all the help they can get to continue living on with hope. My experiences in working and volunteering have opened my eyes and made me want to do more.
I am the founder and CEO of People Helping People In Los Angeles Inc. (PHPLA). We are people who have dedicated ourselves to helping others in need of living essentials, and working together, will provide food, housing, transportation, and care to the poor and the vulnerable in our community.
PHPLA will go out and find people who need help. This fundraising is geared towards providing meals to the homeless in L.A. and then, as your donation grows, PHPLA will help them find a home to stay.
YOUR DONATION IN CASH WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
