Breast cancer can make anyone feel alone. While mortality rates have dropped 39% among women since 1989, this year about 266,120 American women are expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer, and 40,920 women are expected to die from the disease. But, together, we are stronger than breast cancer.
American Cancer Society Denim Days brings us together to help save lives from breast cancer. Denim Days will take place throughout October 2019, but please join us in a national celebration, and our school celebration, on October 11, 2019.
Since the event began in 1996, Denim Days participants have raised more than $97 million to make sure no one must face the disease alone. From investing in research to free rides to chemo and places to stay when treatment is far from home, the American Cancer Society is there for people every step of the way.
Denim Days began with a simple concept – if each of us takes a small step to help eliminate breast cancer, collectively, those steps will take us far in achieving our goal. Companies, schools, and other organizations nationwide have participated in raising funds and awareness to support our programs and services that help those with breast cancer, and to help others avoid a diagnosis altogether.
Our All Saints Family has been impacted by this horrible disease. Together, we can make a difference!
