Musicians and artists are hurting as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. All public performances, shows and music classes have been cancelled or postponed and it has become very difficult for them to pursue any regular activity and projects. In many cases all sources of income have disappeared which puts artists in a position of severe financial hardship.
The Afro Latin Jazz Alliance has established the ALJA Emergency Artist Fund to provide assistance to musicians and other performing and teaching artists. The Fund is open to artists in New York and New Jersey, prioritizing the Afro Latin and Latin Jazz musical community.
