Hello Friends and Family! On Sunday, March 21st at 8:45pm, Josh Workman and I are performing in the Imago Music Festival. This is a live streaming festival benefitting United Friends of the Children, an amazing nonprofit organization committed to assuring foster youth have successful futures.
There are over 30,000 foster youth in Los Angeles County (some with whom I've had the honor of creating music via working with Vista Del Mar School and with Urban Voices Project). Their journeys are rarely easy, while the transition into adulthood is typically jarring at best. 36% of California foster youth become homeless within 18 months of leaving foster care. 51% of those are unemployed, 46% do not graduate high school, and less than 3% earn a college degree). We can do better, and the nonprofit organization, United Friends of the Children, is working to make it so.
Josh and I are very excited to use our music to help make a difference in their lives. So please mark your calendars, come watch us play, and consider making a donation to help me reach my goal of raising $1,000 for United Friends of the Children. Even if you can't make the show, this is a great opportunity to contribute to an organization truly helping foster youth.
The festival will be streaming at youtube.com/ImagoMusicFestival.
Hope to see you on Sunday, March 21st at 8:45pm!
