I met Caroline in 7th grade when she moved from a West Orange. I remember she had poison ivy from running through bushes with her cousins, so she was extra nervous starting at a new school. We had almost every class together, and when we were together, she always made me laugh. We were good friends from that fateful day in science class, up until high school when we went to separate colleges. Any time we ran into each other it was always as if we had seen each other the day before and nothing had changed! When I think of Caroline, I think of all of the laughs we shared, AIM inside jokes from middle school, and silly antics when we were home from college. I will always regret not staying in touch as much as I should have with her, because she was such a good-hearted individual, and lit up a room with her smile and good vibes. Caroline was always one of the first people to support someone who needed it, so I can’t think of a better way to honor her memory by supporting her through this campaign.
