As many of you know, in two short weeks (November 4th) I will be running the 2018 New York Marathon. Running the NY Marathon has always been a dream of mine, but in light of a close family friend's struggle against ALS, it has taken on additional meaning and urgency.
ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, is a rare progressive neurodegenerative disease that attacks the nervous system and brain, impacting control of motor functions. While there is currently no cure, modern medicine is making rapid progress in experimental drugs that can dramatically slow the disease's inexorable advance.
Please join me in donating via my GoFundMe to the ALS Association, where our donation will go towards further development of treatments, and, ultimately, finding a cure.
While I've been well on top of my training, i have been less on top of my fundraising. I'd ask that you please consider donating in whatever amount you are able, to help me reach my goal of $2,000.
Thank you for your consideration, and I hope to see some of you lining the streets of New York on the 4th.
