Alan Granoff, husband of Patricia, father of Adam, Lori and Tricia & grandfather of 6, passed away on March 20th, 2019. In his honor, we are raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Why the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society?
Both Leukemia & Lymphoma have impacted our family. Alan’s mother died of Leukemia and Alan had Lymphoma, although it was fully in remission. As part of Alan’s Lymphoma treatment, his kidney’s were damaged, which started to cause him issues in the past few months. Alan ultimately died of complications from Bacterial Meningitis which the doctors felt may have been caused by a depleted immune system possibly related to his kidney issues. We feel that with the history of these diseases in our family and Lymphoma being the likely long-term root cause of Alan’s untimely death, this foundation made the most sense to us to contribute to, in his honor.
How are we raising funds?
To raise awareness for this fundraiser and to honor Alan, his son Adam will be running in a trail race. Alan enjoyed attending Adam's Ironman events and therefore we felt he'd love to have Adam run an endurance event to honor him.
The Twisted Branch Trail Race (http://twistedbranchtrail.com) is a 64 miles running race in the Finger Lakes region of upstate NY. The race will start at 4am on 8/17/19.
We greatly appreciate your support!
