January 7th, 2020 at 3:41pm, we were blessed with a beautiful baby girl, Alaina Rose.
Alaina was a fighter, with an incredible and pure spirit, that radiated into the hearts of those she met. Although she is not here with us now, she will always be a bright light that I look up to when I need strength and guidance. Alaina is my inspiration to spread awareness and support to those experiencing the same or similar situations.
Alaina was born at 24 weeks and 5 days due to my placenta abrupting, causing an unexpected, premature labor. I was on strict bedrest in the hospital for 10 days, doing everything I could to stop the labor with the nurses working around the clock to monitor us, but Alaina was ready to enter our world...
When Alaina was in the hospital, the nurses and doctors were there 24/7 continuously communicating what the next step should be. I have never seen so many people so dedicated to helping another person - putting us first & we will forever remember them.
What I didn't know, was that there was a 5% chance of this happening to me. I was healthy and was taking care of myself better than ever for Alaina.
I am creating this campaign to support the March of Dimes in Alaina's name.
The March of Dimes leads the fight for the health of all moms and babies. They start with supporting mothers before, after and throughout pregnancies. They believe that every baby deserves the best possible start and are fighting against premature birth and caring for premature babies through out a global platform.
I am asking that you take a moment to donate or send a prayer to help all families experiencing what Alaina and I went through last year. Let Alaina be your inspiration too.
For every $500 raised, we are helping 5 families feel at ease in the NICU with support, education and activities.
