I recently made a spontaneous decision to run the Door County Half Marathon, which will be held in May 2019. Although my training will perhaps be insufficient, I have determined that I can, at a minimum, raise money for a worthy cause, all while proving that physical feats require more than whimsical motivation.
As you know, Alzheimer's Disease has affected my family, as it likely has also affected yours and/or a loved one's family. Not only does Alzheimer's take the wind from the sails of the inflicted person's life, it also has a tremendous impact on loved ones, and caregivers, who embrace those with Alzheimer's. To see the inability of my Dad to enjoy the quality of life he worked so hard and sacrificed so much for, as well as the efforts of my Mom to provide comfortable, reassuring care, is heartbreaking. Unfortunately, however, my parents' predicament is all too common. With this in mind, I will be fundraising on behalf of the Alzheimer's Association, an organization which not only supports research intended to end Alzheimer's, but also helps to provide relief to loved ones and caregivers.
I would sincerely appreciate support in meeting my fundraising goal of $1500. To help attain this goal, Wisconsin Spice will be matching 100% of all donations (up to $1500).
