DeCassi Foundation is a 501 C 3 nonprofit organization, whose primary goal is to strive banish the stigma associated with mental health and to help people to create goals to improve the quality of their lives. Mental health care is such an essential need, yet people are force to choose between accessing mental health services or paying for basic necessities such as food, shelter, utilities, etc. Our desire is to create a lead way to making mental health care affordable for all in their time of need and to help people in improving their standard of living so they can live their best lives now.
Many organizations seek to raise money with similar goals in mind, but what makes us unique is that we aim to offer assistance and resources to an often overlooked and underserved population. We seek to help people who "fall between the cracks." People who earn too much income to qualify for any state funded programs, yet they do not earn enough to afford the basic needs such as food, housing, clothing, and access to health insurance. At times, we all face hardships making it difficult to make ends meet due to financial constraints, a crisis, underemployment, or other situations that make the ability to afford the expenses of daily life a difficult task.
Our primary focus is to assist the working class who have limit income thus cannot afford to pay for health insurance, those who are insured but have high deductibles or cannot afford the insurance copayment to access needed mental health services. DeCassi's long term goal, we seek to provide housing to stabilize clients while working with them utilizing the Maslow hierarchy of needs model.
It is impossible for one to maintain focus in a therapy session if they are hungry, homeless or facing eviction, etc. Therefore, our approach is to assist people with finding resources to first satisfy basic needs, then to address their mental health needs.
We offer referrals for mental health and substance abuse counseling services, life coach services, rental, housing, and mortgage assistance, employment and educational services, mentoring, and credit restoration assistance, to name a few. We will work with our consumers to set realistic, attainable, individualized goals.
While DeCassi Foundation by no means disqualifies those, who fall into these categories in terms of eligibility for assistance, we want to help those who have not only exhausted commonly utilized benefits, but those who do not qualify for them. Our program is a referral-based program; thus, all consumers must be referred for services by a reputable organization.
It is our mission to assist consumers with achieving self-actualization through empowering them to find the tools necessary to achieve their goals, become self-reliant, and to live their best lives.
