Alpha Epsilon Delta or AED at the University of Florida is the pre-health honor society (Florida Alpha Chapter) and is one of UF's most respected organizations and most renowned chapters in the U.S. Impact Gainesville is a charitable organization run by the University of Florida’s chapter of Alpha Epsilon Delta, the pre-health honor society. Our mission is to improve health care provided to the Gainesville community by raising funds for two local nonprofits: the Climb for Cancer Foundation and the UF College of Medicine’s Mobile Outreach Clinic (MOC).
CFC raises money to directly help patients and their families struggling with cancer, 'filling in the cracks' of organizations who typically donate to larger things like cancer research. It funds programs that help to improve the mental, physical, and social wellbeing of cancer patients in their families, and has made incredible impact in our community. For example, one event is a camp that provides pediatric cancer patients, survivors, and their siblings the opportunity to play sports with UF student athletes, completely free. The Mobile Outreach Clinic, a branch of UFHealth, provides medical care to the underserved and low income areas in and around Alachua County.
