Adopt. Rescue. Heal.
Wins for Warriors Foundation has launched a new program, in partnership with Valor Medical Service Dogs, to adopt dogs, rescue them from shelters, and train them to help heal military veterans from service-related injuries. This program is called ADOPT. RESCUE. HEAL.
Adopt. Rescue. Heal. gives locally-rescued dogs at animal shelters the chance to be adopted and trained as service animals in order to provide comfort, security and assistance to military veterans living with PTSD, TBI, or other service-related injuries.
This new program's roots started five years ago with a dog adoption event called "Grand Slam Adoption" created by Kate Upton and Justin Verlander. It has now grown into a life-changing program which will pair its first four dogs with military veterans in March of 2019.
The more support garnered by donors and the community allows us to match more dogs with veterans in need. Help us provide not only the training needed for the rescue dogs, but also the week-long training for the veterans as they adjust to their new lives together as person-service dog companions.
Please know, our support to these amazing families and animals does not end after a week. We are committed to providing the continued training, support and network going forward.
Give today and help us not only make an impact in military veteran lives, but also rescue and save amazing animals that are so deserving of loving, forever homes.
