How We Got Started
BODYPARTS SENIOR FITNESS (BSF) formed after the time when I was the lived-in caregiver for my mother-n-law (7-years). During which several of our corporate sponsored partners (Catholic Charities, Lifelink, Chicago Dept,. on Aging , Phoebes Place..etc.) propelled our brand to reach a wider matured population base. Grace L. Brantley, a.k.a. 'gracie' came to live with my husband and I. She was overweight, suffered from diabetes, and taking lots of medication.
Naturally, I invited 'gracie' to participate in BodyParts Fitness classes. Of course, there was a lot of resistance because she never engaged in any health-wellness programs and 'gracie' believed she would look out of place. But, when 'gracie' arrived at one of our on-site fitness location, patrons automatically approached her- introduce themselves, engaged socially-made her feel welcome! Also, she was encouraged to move at her own pace by beginning with chair exercise. Spectacularly, her movement progressed eventually; evolved into a combination of standing for a while, then sitting when she got tired. Gracie continued moving her 'BodyParts' and began to learn how to adjust her exercise intensity; slow down and pick back-up momentum as she became conditioned (stronger muscles & heart cardio.). As a result, her confidence and self-esteem soared...
In Summary: after a year of consistent exercise adherence; eating nutritional meals, drinking more water, adding mind/body-balance-flexibility regimens, reducing stress, getting proper rest, and socializing-ALL, I witnessed her transition into no longer diagnosed as type II Diabetic! Moreover, Grace Brantley started diversifying her wellness routine to include line dancing and bowling. After a while, she did not wait for me to say, "It's time to exercise" because she had already laid her clothes out for the next day planned activity! Gracie passed away in 2000. And. that's when BSF began-in dedication to her loving memory :-) Thxs 'G' -I HONOR THE COMMITMENT YOU TAUGHT ME THE TRUE MEANING OF WELLNESS +

Thank you in advance, best of health ...
