Under the auspices of Ignited Light, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service has partnered with the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza, Holman United Methodist Church, Community Build, the Los Angeles Sentinel, TEDxCrenshaw, the Aids Healthcare Foundation, and local businesses to provide free medical, legal, dental, and employment services to Crenshaw residents. Since 2016, more than 600 community residents have benefited from viable services that contribute to improved health and economic related conditons of Crenshaw community residents. As a result of COVID-19, the primary focus of the event for 2021 will be free COVID testing and food distribution. Funds raised from this campaign will cover the cost of 350 test kits, personal protection equipment for volunteers; service providers; walk-up participants, tent rentals, and food for distribution.
Register for virtual health and fitness classes held November 2 - 28, 2020 to raise funds for the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service. All classes begin at 6:00 p.m. PST.
