Ms. J moved back into her childhood home after her mother passed away in 2003. She has many special memories of the house and the neighborhood where she grew up. Known as "Mama Lynn," she is the matriarch of her block enjoying many cookouts with neighbors and assisting others with their yardwork.
She is a proud mother of 5 children and 12 grandchildren. She is helping raise two of her grandchildren, now teenagers, who live with her during the week. Her favorite room in the house is the kitchen—that is until it began to fall apart. She considers herself an international cook because she likes to prepare a lot of different types of cuisines, and she enjoys watching others enjoy her food. Repairing the worn-out kitchen would lift her spirits, and she would enjoy cooking once again.
After retiring from the government, she's had trouble keeping up with the maintenance of her house. She is tired of seeing holes in her ceilings and walls and wishes to enjoy her home once again.
YACHAD will be working with the family, volunteers and trades people to fix plumbing and electrical problems throughout the house, repair the kitchen, and install railings. In addition, the house needs wall repairs and painting.
Funding is needed to cover supplies, materials and outside professional contractors. YACHAD, Inc is a 501(c)(3) organization. All contributions are tax deductible.
