What is the Youth Jobs & Leadership Program?
ACT Lawrence sees the importance of jobs for the youth and wants to continue training the next generation. Youth Jobs and Leadership Program offers paid summer jobs and leadership workshops to Lawrence youth ages 14 to 22.
20 youth are selected for this program. They work 15 hours a week for six weeks in the Summer and they develop leadership skills by performing weekly projects and activities. By the end of the program, gained program participants useful work experience and skills such as financial literacy, preparing for a job interview and public speaking.
How Can I Help?
The community needs help developing the leaders of the future, and you can help. That is why ACT Lawrence trains youth with soft skills workshops in financial literacy, resume writing, interview skills, public speaking, community organizing, and more. To continue this vital program, ACT Lawrence needs your help in raising $5,000 dollars by June 30th.
