Key Information
ACT & GET ACTIVE for the Summer's Way Foundation

Summer Hammond was a joyful, loving, and determined individual, who maintained a sense of humor, a strong competitive spirit, and a zest for life despite her diagnosis of Rhabdomyosarcoma at age 16.

Each May, Kappa and Heorot remember Summer and her legacy through the Summer’s Way Foundation 4v4 Memorial Soccer Tournament. Because we were unable to continue our tradition this spring, we have decided to hold a virtual event for the Summer’s Way Foundation this fall.

To honor Summer’s giving spirit and passion for athletics, we invite you to ACT & GET ACTIVE from October 2 - 3, 2020.

GET INVOLVED

1) Do an ACT OF GOOD for someone else.

2) GET ACTIVE however you can.

3) Do both!

Click HERE to read  examples of ways that you can ACT & GET ACTIVE in honor of Summer and make sure to REGISTER ABOVE.

Registration fees ($5.00) and donations will support the Summer's Way Foundation. (Note: If the registration fee creates a financial burden for you, please use the promo code: summersway)

MORE ABOUT THE SUMMER'S WAY FOUNDATION

After Summer passed away five years ago, her parents established the Summer's Way Foundation to honor her memory and values and advance Rhabdomyosarcoma research. The Summer's Way Foundation aims to further this incredible woman's legacy through advancing childhood cancer and Rhabdomyosarcoma research, recognizing, through scholarships, graduating high school students in the community who have faced adversity, and connecting families dealing with Rhabdomyosarcoma and childhood cancer through webinars and support groups. The mantra "be strong, be positive, be better," will forever reflect Summer's Way.

OUR PARTNER

Kappa and Heorot are thrilled to host this event in partnership with Positive Tracks, a national non-profit organization that helps people create change with athletic events of every kind. Their mission is to teach young people how to #SweatForGood! We are so appreciative of the thoughtful guidance and support that we have received from Positive Tracks throughout the process of planning this virtual event as well as our Memorial Soccer Tournaments in years past. We would also like to thank them for generously matching the first $100.00 raised for the Summer's Way Foundation! Let us know if you would like to plan an event with Positive Tracks and we can connect you to our contact.
