COVID-19 has affected everyone differently. Cancer patients are among the highest-risk individuals impacted by this relentless virus, often due to ongoing treatments that weaken the immune system. The American Cancer Society during all of this turmoil is a place where patients can turn for advice, information, and hope. I am proud to be a part of an organization dedicated in helping curb the burden cancer patients are facing due to COVID-19. ACS provides a 24/7 free helpline via phone (1-800-227-2345) and live chat. ACS staff have been working diligently to compile resources to guide patients and their caretakers through this pandemic.
However, ACS, like many businesses and institutions, has been impacted. ACS is calling on you and others to help. If you can spare even a few dollars, I, along with ACS, would be eternally grateful for your support. That being said, we, at ACS at the University of Michigan, completely empathize with the economic burden this may have placed you. If you are unable to donate, you can still help us in this fight by sharing ACS resources linked in this email with those you may know with cancer. Let them know that the American Cancer Society, pandemic or not, will always be there for them.
