Our Mission Continues
Cancer doesn’t stop for a pandemic so neither do we. That’s why we need your support this #GivingTuesday.
The mission of the American Cancer Society is – and always will be – to save lives, celebrate lives, and lead the fight for a world without cancer. Now, more than ever, cancer patients and their loved ones are relying on us to provide accurate information and guidance.
But the truth is, COVID-19 has negatively impacted our progress:
It has reduced our ability to fund cancer research by 50% in 2020. The lowest investment this century. This is frightening for cancer patients, for researchers, and for the health care community.
79% of cancer patients in active treatment have reported delays in care due to the pandemic. Without us, they face their fight with less comprehensive support.
More than two-thirds of Americans have reported that their scheduled cancer screenings, such as mammograms and colonoscopies, have been delayed or skipped during the COVID-19 crisis.
While many aspects of our lives have paused due to COVID-19, cancer hasn't stopped so neither will we. On #GivingTuesday and every day, the American Cancer Society has remained open 24/7, providing a lifeline to residents in this community and communities across the country via phone, live chat and video, answering questions about cancer and especially questions about cancer and COVID-19.
Please give generously
The American Cancer Society is asking everyone whose life has been touched by cancer to help us save cancer research and support patients and their families by donating now. Be a part of this global day of giving.
Your donation, no matter how large or small, helps to provide:
● Around the clock expert patient support and cancer information.
● Continued investment in cancer research to assure we don’t lose a generation of advancement.
● Advocacy on behalf of cancer patients regardless of their income, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability status, or where they live, ensuring their voices are heard and they receive access to quality care even if they lose their job or have a pre-existing condition.
On #GivingTuesday, your support of the American Cancer Society allows cancer survivors like Reese and their families a future filled with HOPE. Please help us celebrate this day of generosity and the beginning of the giving season by making a donation.
