On April 20, 2020, I'll be toeing the starting line of the Boston Marathon, the greatest roadrace there is, for the 6th time to raise funds for a cause I care about the - Museum of Science’s Traveling Programs.
Traveling Programs is the museum's outreach program. If you can't go to the Museum of Science, they'll bring it to you! They travel across New England bringing a variety of fun, hands-on STEM programs to classrooms, libraries, and community centers, reaching over 100,000 students each year. Their programs cover subjects including chemistry, physics, weather, biology, engineering, and many more. Unfortunately, not all schools can afford field trips or have strong science programs, so the funds raised by the marathon team will not only go towards supporting and expanding the programs but to provide scholarships for underserved communities whose kids may not have any other way to experience the Museum of Science.
I continue running in memory of Betsy Davis. Betsy wasn't just my mentor, she was my friend. And I miss her. Betsy was caring, intelligent, and fierce, an inspiration for all women in STEM. I’m proud to honor her legacy by supporting an organization that strives to inspire the next generation of young women in science and tech.
If you're interested in supporting the Traveling Programs and their mission to develop and teach exciting programs that ignite curiosity in STEM, please consider making a donation. Every little bit helps!
