For 45 years, Achieving Greatness, Inc. has been hosting educational, recreational, social and athletic programs for residents of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County. Activities are open to all, with no exceptions for age, race, sexual orientation, religion or political affiliation, with a special emphasis on low-income and disadvantaged youth.
Our biggest events of the summer are included in our Safe Summer Youth Programs for ages 6-16. These programs are highly structured with a focus on nonviolent and conflict-free activities that foster positive growth and development. In recent years, we’ve offered activities such as:
- Pittsburgh Pirates baseball games.
- Pittsburgh Zoo field trips.
- Kennywood Amusement Park field trips.
- Pittsburgh International Airport field trips.
- Rolling Hills Farm horseback riding.
- Armon Gilliam Memorial Basketball camp.
- Highland Park Tennis Lessons.
Young people get to engage in positive activities after the school year is over. It’s even more important this summer, given the stressful educational environment caused by Covid-19, that they get much needed downtime. We need your support to make this happen!
Our donation collection partner is The Pittsburgh Contingency, Inc. It's a registered nonprofit that assists organizations in handling finances, reporting requirements and general business knowledge. This helps organizations like ours continue serving people in communities in need of services, and ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX-DEDUCTABLE!
We need your support to continue providing these activities, which cost NOTHING for the youth who participate. We strive to achieve greatness with our young people, so that they can have a safe and fun summer. Please support us in reaching our goal!
