In early 2016 Project Left Behind (PLB) was made aware of a small private home for children in need of funding. The home was struggling to make ends meet. PLB set off to learn more and what they found was a woman named Isabel full of love who treated these children as her own. An educator herself, Isabel believed whole-heartedly in a child’s right to an education. Therefore, she began to house and educate children who were otherwise not attending school! PLB saw firsthand that Isabel’s work was worthy and needing of on-going support so it was decided that Project Left Behind would take it on!
In January of this year, Isabel lost her battle to cancer. She is survived by her four children, her husband, two grandchildren and 24 other children to whom she was a guiding light, a source of hope, and a second mother. She leaves an amazing legacy and we are committed to watching her dream of raising healthy humans come to fruition for generations to come.
Our goal in this campaign is to raise $20,000. This would help cover our $30k budget that gives the children school supplies, clothing, medicine, a primary school tutor, a high school math teacher, a child psychologist, cook, house-cleaner, utilities, household supplies, and more! With these necessities covered, Isabel's daughter who is gracefully and instinctually following in her mother's footsteps, can focus on the love she is so good at giving to the children.
