Breast cancer can make anyone feel alone. While mortality rates have dropped 39% among women since 1989, this year about 266,120 American women are expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer, and 40,920 women are expected to die from the disease. But, together, we are stronger than breast cancer.
American Cancer Society Denim Days brings us together to help save lives from breast cancer. Denim Days will take place throughout October 2019 and offices or client sites can choose a day or a week that they want to collect donations and raise awareness, or use the whole month of October!
Since the event began in 1996, Denim Days participants have raised more than $97 million to make sure no one must face the disease alone. From investing in research to free rides to chemo and places to stay when treatment is far from home, the American Cancer Society is there for people every step of the way. Our Metro DC Accenture/AFS office has been a part of these fundraising efforts since 1997! We have raised well over $10,000 over the years.
