245 children who were detained during Trump's zero tolerance policy last spring are still separated from their families. The president is now threatening to fully militarize and close the southern border in response to the caravan of 7,000+ people on route through Mexico. We need to continue to fight back.

On Saturday, July 28, 13 protesters participated in civil disobedience and were arrested outside the ICE offices in Williston, Vermont. Two of the protesters were minors. The cases continue to move slowly through the courts. We are unsure why they haven't been dropped yet, however we are hopeful that a jury trial will bring more attention to the issue.
It would be great if civil disobedience was a tactic more people could utilize regardless of economic status. Most of the people who were arrested are able to pay for their share. Others are not able to do so easily. To help those that can't afford the fees, we have started this go fund me. People in the group have contributed what they can (some covering more than their share). Now we are asking for your support.
In addition to our $3,000 of fees, we are hoping to raise an additional $3,000 to give to RAICES and the ACLU.
If you prefer, you can send a check to Peace & Justice Center, 60 Lake St, Ste 1C, Burlington, VT 05401. We will enter it to the gofundme offline so it still shows here.
