When I graduated from Hanover College in May, the next step forward felt nerve-racking and very exciting. While it was difficult leaving the familiar; Hanover College, friends, and family, I have been honored with the opportunity to serve in the PULSE program in Pittsburgh, PA.
PULSE cultivates a community of young servant leaders to transform Pittsburgh. They invite recent, college graduates (such as myself) to partner with local nonprofits for a year of service and leadership. I am thrilled to be part of a program that invests in young leaders to make real change in the city and gives us a chance to live together.
I am looking forward to a year of being surrounded by people serving and living in community. My hope for the year is that I develop into a bolder leader. I am excited to explore a new city, a new coast, and an incredible opportunity! I am joining pulse to make a difference in the city, in myself, and hopefully the lives of others. I believe that PULSE will help build my leadership skills and will build my connections in the city and beyond.
Part of my first task as a PULSE participant is to assemble a team of people who will support me in this work. I realize that I can’t do this work alone, that I need others to partner with me.
Would you consider supporting me in this work? I am in the process of raising $2,500 to cover expenses for this year of service and leadership. Your support will help impact the lives of Pittsburgh’s most vulnerable. Any little bit helps and it means the world to me!
Please fill out the enclosed reply envelope and return it to PULSE, regardless of ability/interest to give financially. You can also give online at www.pulsepittsburgh.org/support. I cannot thank you enough for your continued investment in my life and in the life of PULSE, a program that I know will provide me with amazing opportunities!
