Campaign: A Village of Wings is grateful to particpate in the Quicken Loans Community Challenge. One of A Village of Wings programs is called Detroit Against Bullying. This program teaches youth how to identify bullying, stand up to it safely and become active leaders in their schools. In addition, self-value, self - esteem building, respect and trust are taught throughout the program. The money raised from this challenge will support in the efforts of this program held annualy with venue, progam materials, activities, and food for the participants.
Youth that paticpate in D.A.B are able to recieve scholarships by participating in anti-bullying marketing challenges like writing poems, short essays, or art pieces, that promote anti-bullying.
This year two of our youth were selected because of their outstanding academics and leadership by their schools to take college classes this Fall while still being in High School! AVOW is coming together to help our youth with books, supplies and transportaion.

Background of Organization
October of 2015 A Village of Wings became an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. It was founded by three women born and raised in Detroit, Michigan.These young women collectively exchanged stories about the oppositions they were facing being a parent, challenging childhoods, and the concern for all individuals who encounter hardships due to a lack of knowledge of engaged community support and resources.

A VOW to strengthen parents, youth and the community in leading well informed and fulfilled lives with unity, pride, and respect. A Village of Wings strives to provide educational programs, community-building events, uplifting social outreach, and resources to establish a village of support within Metro Detroit.

For Youth - A VOW supports the youth through a specialized program called Detroit Against Bullying that promotes bullying awareness and encourages emotional intelligence. In addition, self-value, respect and trust are taught throughout the program. Community Partnership - We encourage volunteering in the community by providing opportunities for those to give back through partnered events with other non-profits, local parks, and shelters.
