In Ukraine, parents of children with special needs are encouraged to hand their children over to state care. They are told their children are a burden on society. Children are sent to institutions where they are subjected to abuse and neglect. There is minimal support available to parents who fight to keep their children with them. Maya's Hope wants to help relieve some of the burden on these amazing parents and assist in keeping children with their families, where they belong.
Aaron is almost 9 years old. He was born prematurely and has impaired vision and developmental delays. Maya's Hope provides formula, meds and therapy for him. His mother recently wrote to us.
"We have news, not very pleasant, but fixable. Aaron was ill and had to have a chest x-ray, and it was very sad to see in the picture and hear that the curvature of the chest went to the left side. We coped with hip dysplasia but here is still a 1.5cm difference in his legs. And since Aaronchik cannot stand on his own for a long time and evenly, he needs a Verticalizer, with the correct fastenings."
There is a THREE YEAR waiting list for a stander from the government. Aaron cannot wait that long and his family cannot afford to purchase one themselves. Can you help us raise the amount needed?
