2nd Annual Freedom Walk & Community Cook-out is a day for families in Baltimore to come together to remember the loss of our loved ones in hopes of bringing healing to our community.
The Freedom Walk will take place from 10 a.m - 12 p.m at Lake Montebello on Sunday July 14, 2019.
Schedule of Event:
The Freedom Walk will begin at 10 am with prayer and participants will walk around Lake Montebello.
At 12:30 p.m everyone will reconvene as a group to release a balloon in memory of their loved one who life was taken by violence. Each participant will receive a Grief Referral Sheet that includes contact information for local grief and/or bereavement counselors and/or programs.
Starting at 1:30 p.m and ending at 5:30 p.m, there will be a community cook-out with free food, drinks, music, dance and art therapy. There will be healing stations on site where a volunteer will lead participants through a series of healing therapy activities to help them process their grief.The event will help families realize they are not alone in their pain and its okay to release our pain in a way that celebrates the memory of our loved ones.
