IMAGINE . . .
Over 300 children on the Island of Maui are affected and traumatized by neglect and abuse.
They live day to day with uncertainties. Will they have their 3 meals? What will they face tomorrow from their perpetrators? What will become of these victims?
But then, the light of the end of the tunnel appears as they are rescued by Social Workers and Foster Parents.
The Maui Chapter of Royal Family Kids are trying to do our part to make a difference in the lives of these children. RFK Maui will collaborate with the Social Workers, Foster Parents and other custodial authorities to engage the children in a 5-day camp.
NOW PICTURE THIS . . .
On July 13-17, 2020 the children will attend camp designed just for them. At the camp, they will enjoy five days of fun filled activities in a safe environment. And all the boys and girls will celebrate their birthdays, even if it's not their birthday, complete with birthday gifts!
They will create long lasting happy memories, contradictory to what they have experienced by those who have hurt them.
. . . listen to the loud laughter and screams of pure joy.
WE TAKE SPECIAL CARE
The camp will be conducted by volunteers, who come from various churches on the island of Maui. We strictly apply our rule of one adult counselor per 2 campers. Rigorous safety measures are enforced to protect the well-being of the children. Ultimately, camp volunteers have one big job description: to treat the children ROYALLY!
And the long-term goal is to change the trajectory of the kids in the system.
