When ask what will you like for Christmas? Tonijahla, 11 yrs old of Phoenix, Arizona replied "Mama was back and the things were how they used to be." Back in June of this year Tonijahla and her 3 older brothers lost their mother Erica Soliz, 40 yrs old of Phoenix, Arizona. With the sudden death of their mother, little did they know how much their life would change. Their father, Tony Shivers, 49 yrs old of Phoenix, Arizona is paralyzed from the neck down. Unable, to take care of himself; Tony soley rely on the help from others: nurses and family members especially his daughter Tonijahla. Tonijahla took on the responsibility of making sure her father needs are covered. From feeding him to brushing his hair; Tonijahla replaced the idea of being a kid with the action of providing care for her father. Currently the family of three is living in a storage house that was converted to accommodate the needs of Tony. With his medical bed along with his wheelchair it doesn't leave much room for Tonijahla and her brother Quincy.
We are asking our fellows neighbors across the United Stated and the world to help us make this Christmas one Tonijahla, her brothers, and her father will never forget.
We are asking for assistance with the following:
A place to live that can accommodate all Tony medical needs as well as providing security to his children.
Furniture: Basic, bedding, beds, living room furniture, kitchen items, etc
Transportation: A vehicle specially design for a medical wheelchair
Clothing/Shoes for Tonijahla and her brothers
