My Vermont Long Trail hike will begin the first week of September. With your help I hope to raise $1000 to support the work the Duluth Community School Collaborative. For a handful of years I have been lucky enough to be a part of the after school program. It's a beautiful thing to witness the giant impact this small program has on kids and families in our community.
"Since 1998, Myers-Wilkins Community School Collaborative has been working in close collaboration with an urban elementary magnet school, community partners and parents to offer innovative and effective free after-school and summer youth development programs to 400+ at-risk youth ages 5-11 during the school year, and 5 - 15 during the summer. Typically, 79% of participants can be classified as low/moderate income. Youth programs work in intentional alignment with the school to extend school day curricula and life skills into thematic, hands-on experiential learning. Monthly Family Events build bridges between home, school and community and celebrate the school’s diversity."
