Don Z has been the York Volunteer Fire Departments's Assistant Fire Chief for the past 5+ years! He has served our community faihfully - with both his time and his money.
He has been instrumental in the "behind the scenes" in getting the Fire Station #3 ready to be built near Eldorado Heights. But alas - he has been diagnosed with cancer. We want him to be able to see this fire station being built!
Because we are small community based volunteer fire department funds are extremely limited. The yearly tax allocation monies barely even cover the basic expenses. We do have 2 major fundraisers a year that, essentially, provide funds to purchase the equipment required for firefighters and EMTs. Those fundraisers have provided small part of the monies required to build the new firestation - yet more funds are still needed to build and equip this fire station.
The Eldorado Heights Station will cost $280000 to build. Would you please help us build a fire station for Don!
We are a small community based volunteer fire department tucked away in the Big Belt Mountains and surrounded by Helena National Forest Service land.
Our service area is approximately 110 sq. miles with approximately 400 year around residents which doubles during the summer. In addition, there are lots of campers, fisherpeople, bicylists, ORVr's, and hikers that come up to the National Forest that we are are centrally located within!
The volunteers of the York Fire Department serve our communities 24/7 and attend over 2,000 hours of training throughout the year. Neighbors serving neighbors for over 60 years. The new fire station near Eldorado Heights will provide quicker Emergency Providers response times and could save a life - maybe one of your loved ones or even you!
Without YOUR HELP - this station may not happen. Without your support - the new fire station cannot be built and equipped. Let's make this happen!
