I was diagnosed with a rare form of uterine cancer in 2012 at the age of 36 and experienced a recurrence in 2015. With the help of an amazing team of doctors and nurses from Johns Hopkins, I am in remission and healthy. I am now looking to help women who are newly diagnosed cope with their gynecologic cancer and thrive throughout their journey. I also hope to help raise money to support gynecologic cancer survivors and to support the research efforts of the Johns Hopkins team.
Since starting this fundraising campaign, my dear Uncle Sammie has passed away after a long battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Now in addition to running for my fellow survivors, I run for him. There is so much work to be done, and I firmly believe that if we all continue to support each other and our brilliant medical teams, we can find better treatments and eventually a cure, not just for gynecologic cancer but for all cancers.
