I am excited to share that I am participating in the 2019 Bank of America Chicago Marathon for Team Special Olympics Chicago! I am running and raising funds for the athletes of Special Olympics Chicago to support their mission of inclusion, courage, and joy through physical activity. Special Olympics Chicago currently supports more than 7,500 athletes in all 50 wards of the city, covering the cost to participate and providing transportation, food, equipment and other materials for all athletes. Their goal is to remove any barriers that athletes have to participating. Athletes are able to showcase their abilities and continue to have opportunities because of donors like you!
Running a full marathon has been on my bucket list for a few years now, but I always seemed to find an excuse to wait for a "better" time. In April, I was given the opportunity to run in support of the Special Olympics of Chicago and knew it was an opportunity I did not want to pass up. Training started at the beginning of June and will continue until race day on October 13th.
Thank you for your support as I challenge myself to complete the marathon and to help support Special Olympians throughout the city of Chicago. For additional information about Special Olympics Chicago or this year’s Bank of America Chicago Marathon Team, please visit sochicago.org.
Again, thank you for supporting 7,500+ superstar Special Olympics athletes! #CANDOTHANKSTOYOU
