Team Breast Friends invites anyone who has been diagnosed with breast cancer or anyone who loves someone who has been diagnosed with breast cancer to join us for the Power of Tower 5K Run/Walk and help raise money for cancer research. The sisterhood that forms between the warriors of this specific cancer, especially for pre-menopausal women under 45, is like no other. Team Founders Suzanne Asherson, Kaye Steinsapir and Erin Cummings met at the UCLA Santa Monica chemo room during various stages of their treatment and recovery and formed an irreplaceable bond immediately. After one fateful and fabulous Brentwood lunch, which included show and touch in the bathroom, the ladies termed themselves "Breasties" and started a tradition that continues to grow. The lunches have expanded to include more Los Angeles-based Breasties and are usually filled with tips on everything from the effects of chemo-induced early menopause to eyebrow tattooing to simply the frustrations that come with cancer. There are a few tears, always a lot of laughs, but the sisterhood of the traveling boob show remains. We hope that you will join our team and help us raise money to fight ALL forms of cancer. We welcome you on March 11th to gather with us (we're a lot of fun!), but if you can't join us, please consider donating what you can - if we can't have you, we'll take your money! Please feel free to share this team page with any friends who would like to join us for this epic day.
