2019 ITL WALK FAQ

HOW CAN I REGISTER?
You can register as an Individual, as a Team Captain (Create a Team), or as a Team Member (Join a Team), by visiting the registration page.
HOW DO I CREATE A TEAM?
When registering, please select the “Create a Team” registration option or click here. Once your Team is registered on Crowdrise, a Team Registration and Fundraising Page will be automatically created for your Team. The Team Captain can send this link to each Team Member who can then create his/her own Member page. All Team Member pages will link back to the Team page, and all proceeds will go directly to the EFMNY.
Teams must consist of at least five people. All Team Members receive a customized t-shirt with your Team name upon check-in at the registration table. Please note that you are encouraged to pre-register by September 15th to ensure that you will receive your customized t-shirt upon check-in at the Walk. We encourage all Teams to create banners and/or signage to carry during the walk although this is not required. Please share this FAQ with your Team Members!
HOW DO I JOIN AN EXISTING TEAM?
To join an existing Team, please select the “Join a Team” registration option or and select the Team you would like to join, or click here. Once you join a Team, your Team Captain will send you a link to the Team’s Fundraising page, from which you can create your own individual Team Member page. All proceeds raised will automatically be included in your Team’s fundraising total, and will go directly to the EFMNY. If you or your Team Captain cannot locate the link to your fundraiser page, or have any questions, please email email@example.com.
Please note that you are encouraged to register by September 15th to ensure that you will receive your t-shirt upon check-in at the Walk. Team Members who are unable to pick up their t-shirt on the day of the walk will receive one via mail after the Walk.
IS PREREGISTRATION DONE BY JUST THE TEAM OR BY EACH OF THE NAMES ON THE TEAM?
Preregistration is required by each individual name on each Team, for entrance to the Walk. If this is not done prior to the Walk, then on-site registration will be the requirement upon arrival at the Walk on Sunday, September 22.
CAN I CREATE A FUNDRAISING PAGE WITHOUT REGISTERING?
Yes! If you would like to create a Fundraising page for the Walk, please select the “Fundraise Only” registration option or click here. This will allow you to set up your page on Crowdrise.com, our official online fundraising platform; all proceeds will go directly to the EFMNY. Please note that creating a fundraising page does not pre-register you for the Walk.
Team Captains for the Fundraising page should create a Team page and send the link to each Member who can then create an individual Team Member page. All Team Member pages will link back to the Team page, and all proceeds will go directly to the EFMNY.
WHERE DO I GO TO RECEIVE MY T-SHIRT?
All Team Members will receive their t-shirts at the check-in table on the morning of the Walk. On the day of the walk the Team Captain will be responsible for picking up ALL t-shirts for the Team, and all Team Members will receive their t-shirts from the Team Captain. Please note that you are encouraged to register by September 15th to ensure that you receive your t-shirt upon check-in at the Walk. Team Members who are unable to pick up their t-shirts on the day of the Walk receive one via mail after the Walk.
WHERE DOES AN INDIVIDUAL WALKER GO TO RECEIVE HIS/HER T-SHIRT?
An individual Walker whose registration included the t-shirt option will receive his/her t-shirt at the check-in table on the morning of the Walk. Please note that you are encouraged to register by September 15th to ensure that you receive your t-shirt upon check-in at the Walk.
DO I HAVE TO WALK THE ENTIRE ROUTE?
We encourage all participants to walk at their own pace and to rest as needed. The route, which runs along the Hudson River, offers several resting points. The EFMNY will provide appropriate personnel and signage along the entire route.
WILL THERE BE MEDICAL SUPPORT ONSITE IN CASE OF ANY EMERGENCY?
EMTs will be onsite during the whole event. You can also rest assured that leading Members of our epilepsy medical community will be out to support epilepsy awareness along with you!
