I'm ba-ack!
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page as I try to raise money and awareness for Every Mother Counts, the non-profit organization whose mission is to make childbirth and pregnancy safe for EVERY mother, everywhere. This includes mothers in developing nations who may have to walk miles while in labor, seeking any type medical care and it also means taking care of mothers right here in the United States, where we honestly have abysmal statistics when it comes to maternal health.
I am passionate about this mission because of my own experience with childbirth. Following the birth of my son in 2012, I experienced a massive postpartum hemorrhage and the only option was a life saving hysterectomy. Running for EMC is therapy for me. Running for EMC allows me to do *something* to give back in the hopes that I can help other mothers have a healthy pregnancy and safe delivery.
On September 8, 2018, I will be doing a Half Ironman triathlon in Sweet Home, Oregon in order to raise money and awareness for EMC. This consists of a Stand Up Paddle (1.2 miles), Bike (56 miles) and Run (13.1 miles) for a total of 70.3 miles. In honor of the mileage of this event, my goal is to raise $700.30.
Thank you for stopping by and thank you in advance for your donation!
