Welcome to the 6th Annual Run for UASCJ fundraising page, benefiting the students of the Urban Assembly School for Criminal Justice. We are now in our 12th year and have graduated five classes, with our Class of 2018 achieving a 93% graduation rate, around 17 points above the city average. Our alumnae can be found at many colleges across the northeast, including Barnard, Bryn Mawr, Columbia, Princeton, Smith, SUNYs, CUNYs, and other institutions. Our current seniors have started to receive their college acceptances, and we are excited to announce that we have students bound for UPenn, NYU, and Wesleyan!
We are thrilled to be building our alumnae network (this year will be our first graduating class's 5th HS reunion!), and now have multiple alumnae as crucial members of the UASCJ Advisory Board. Please help us continue to provide our young women with a well-rounded education and a network of support that is critical to their success. 100% of the funds we raise go to our students so that they can attend enrichment summer programs, apply to college and afford a college education. The exorbitant cost of a high-quality college education is overwhelming for our students, 94% of whom qualify for free/reduced lunch. Your financial support in the past has allowed us to disburse approximately $20K a year.
This year, our annual run will be taking place in our home borough of Brooklyn at Prospect Park on Saturday, May 4th. Those who choose to participate in the run are invited to take part in either a 5K running loop of the park, or a 1 mile walk. Students, families, staff members, and UASCJ supporters are welcome to join us for a picnic and activities in the park following the run.
With much gratitude, The UASCJ Advisory Board and Staff
