This is our 5th Annual Turkey Bowl and each year we try to up our game. This is our 3 year where we are continuing to take our Thanksgiving Day tradition to the next level. Each of the past 5 years a group of Adults relive our childhood glory days and end up feeling the pain for days, weeks and some even months afterwards. It is one of those American Traditions that the memories will stand the test of time. Similar to the one our second year where we had for former NFL full back dive for a first down literally exploding a football in his chest and so many more. With the thought of Thanksgiving each of us that have played in the past, those that will play this year, and our future selves that will play in the future have always participated as a way to keep in touch with friends, family, and neighbors. It is no shock that we all discuss how wonderful our days will be after the game, who we will see, what we will drink, what we will eat, and who will win the Thanksgiving NFL games over a couple of adult beverages. Those conversations are also the ones that sparked the idea of “how can we expand the giving tradition of Thanksgiving for other families and friends”. With those thoughts in mind we decided to help support a local organization called Milwaukee Rescue Mission. Providing hot meals for the homeless. Homeless men, women and children often find themselves living on the streets because of one or more unfortunate — and often unforeseen — circumstances. A sudden job loss. Eviction. Major medical issues. Domestic violence. Addictions to drugs and alcohol. Perhaps poor choices. Divorce, or death of a spouse. Severe mental illness. Veterans, many with PTSD. It could happen to any of us, or someone we love. It is our goal to help as many people as we can to give them the opportunity to enjoy a warm meal surrounded by friends, family and/or neighbors allowing them to share the joy of Thanksgiving. We hope you can find it in your heat to help us reach our goal this year of supplying 1,000 MEALS. For every $8.16 donation you can feed a family of 4. Help us reach our goal!
