This family-friendly event aims to educate the community in order to prevent future violence. The money raised will benefit Domestic Violence Services of Southwestern PA (DVSSP). We hope to raise $20,000 at this year’s event.
One of the areas of focus this year is broadening our free and confidential services within the community. As a domestic violence organization serving Washington, Greene, and Fayette counties, last fiscal year DVSSP community support groups reached 581 people for a total of 36,123 counseling hours, and through community empowerment counseling 288 people were reached for a total of 17,641 hours.
DVSSP has established partnerships with various community organizations that allows the agency to provide community-based services such as support group and empowerment counseling at various sites throughout our communities.
DVSSP’s vision is to be part of a community in which violence is eradicated FOR everyone, BY everyone and ! Supporting the PeacefromDV Walk not only supports those experiencing domestic violence but also increases awareness.
