Every cent that we raise goes directly to Gettysburg Pride in helping bring LGBTQ+Allies awareness, education and support to are so honored to be part of this community.
Your support means so much to so many in our community who feel safe and loved here for being who they are. We are business owners, artists, friends of yours, and we are also supporters of your local businesses and causes that are important to you as well.
Please join us in our dream to continue to create something special and unique for a community of LGBTQ and straight allies right here in historic Gettysburg, PA.
Like everyone, we had so much planned for 2020, but then the pandemic made us cancel lots and do whatever we could do virtually. We did however host a virtual pride day with incredible educational sessions in LGBTQ awareness, health of mind, body, and spirit, as well as drag performer entertainers, AND HBO's Award-Winning Series "We're Here" originated right here in Gettysburg, premiered in 2020, has received many awards, and is now filming Season 2.
But probably most important for the Gettysburg Pride community is the fact that the Gettysburg Borough Council voted UNANIMOUSLY on the bi-partisan created Non-Discrimination Ordinance that helps protect everyone in our town against discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression with regards to employment, housing, and public accomadations! This is INCREDIBLE for our town to join the 60 other municipalities in Pennsylvania for such an ordinance to help protect LGBTQ individuals since there is currently no State or Federal Law that does so fully in those issues. WONDERFUL NEWS! Thank you all who supported the year long process to get this passed.
We hope that you will all
come out, come out wherever you are and meet the young drag queen who feel from a star!
You are loved!
We encourage all local businesses that are open to organize and host their own special event, discount, or menu item for Gettysburg Pride weekend. Fly the Pride flags to show everyone where they can go to be loved and accepted for who they are. While Gettysburg Pride is ALWAYS the weekend after Memorial Day Monday, we want everyone to know that June is also National Pride Month every year so feel free to fly those rainbows any time.
We hope everyone will come to town with their family and friends wearing your pride gear (order via our website) and enjoy visiting while safely, masked, and distanced.
But what WILL we be hosting?
GETTYSBURG PRIDE 2021
will be outside this year on LINCOLN SQUARE Saturday, June 5th 11am-10pm!
We will have vendors, an outdoor stage for live entertainment, Cinderella and other princessess to meet, family friendly games and activities, educational material for mind, body and spirit, AND of course the Pride March For Love at 3pm Saturday.
Family and pet friendly. All are welcome.
This march will once again return on the same path that President Lincoln took to deliver the famous Gettysburg Address and help start the path to equality. Safely distanced from one another, we will march down Baltimore Street, back to Lincoln Square, and up and down Chambersburg Street, York Street, Carlisle Street, and all around historic Lincoln Square.
Arrive to town early to shop, dine, get some temp tattoos, flags, and stickers. Kids can paint pride rocks to leave around town and spread the love.
While on the square, you can search for one of our favorite parts of downtown, local artist Wendy Allen designed artwork of Lincoln with the words ALL ARE CREATED EQUAL!
Be sure to take your photo with it when you find it on Lincoln Square and post and tag us for a chance to win free tickets and other prizes from local businesses.
Gettysburg Pride Inc encourages everyone to learn about the very deep struggle of Black Trans Lives!
Not many people know that the gay pride movement was started by black trans women at Stonewall NYC in 1969. We owe them everything! Never forget! Let us march TOGETHER again and show unity, peace and love to all!
YOU are ALL family to us and we are beyond excited to continue to develop Gettysburg Pride welcome to EVERYONE that is respectful and loving of one another!
You are beautiful. You are loved. You are important.
