These Legs Get Legs is a group of dedicated athletes who are inspired by Boston Marathon survivors, particularly Celeste Corcoran. I will be running the 2019 Boston Marathon to benefit the 50 Legs organization. Celeste is a double amputee as a result of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings and thanks to 50 Legs has received the best prosthetics and treatment available.
Today we are requesting your generous tax-deductible donation.
100% of all donations will go directly to the runners’ 50 Legs donation account to supporting amputees with the necessary care and prosthetics they could not otherwise afford. If preferred, a cash donation may be made directly to 50 Legs by mailing your check to the address listed. Please note my name, Maria Martignetti, as the runner you are supposrting.
Today there are nearly 2 million people living with limb loss in the United States. It is the goal of These Legs Get Legs to raise as much money and awareness for 50 Legs as possible via the exposure of their participation in the Boston Marathon.
50 Legs is a tax-exempt organization that has served amputees since 2011. We provide amputees of all ages with prosthetic legs. To date, 50 legs have helped more then three hundred amputees receive prosthesis.

In 2011 Steve Chamberland founded 50 Legs, a nonprofit charity that provides prosthetic legs to amputees. 50 legs has assisted hundreds amputees who have experienced the tragedy of limb loss. We have helped those who have suffered amputation from cancer, shark attacks, terrorist attacks, lawn mower accidents, and many other unfortunate accidents. We have also had the privilege of helping many veterans. Amputation is a hard adjustment, but we have found that amputees want to have the ability to live a normal life again and contribute to the community. At 50 legs our mission is to provide amputees with the necessary care and prosthetics that they could not otherwise afford and to help them live a happier and healthier life. Those who have been recipients of 50 legs are independent and thriving members of their communities. 50 legs wants to continue helping amputees so they too may regain the independence they once had.
