The Ontario Commandery of the Sovereign Order of St John of Jerusalem, Knights Hospitaller has hosted a fun run/walk in September each year since 2017. This 5km trail run/walk though NCC parkland offers a beautiful opportunity to support a great cause, gets some exercise, have fun and enjoy the fall colours.
With the money we have raised so far, we have been able to purchase equipment for two hospices and fund renovations for Ottawa's only hospice for homeless people - The Diane Morrison Hospice.
The needs however, continue, and we remain committed to raising funds to support projects in communities across Ontario. We fund needs directly affecting the comfort and care of the terminally ill to ensure the maximum benefit of every dollar raised.
Our organization is run 100% through volunteer service and every dollar we raise goes to fund projects. Any administration costs are paid by the members of the Commandery or through event registration fees.
The SOSJ, Knights Hospitaller is an organization which exists to serve the sick and poor. A fundamental principle is that we serve everyone, regardless of race, religion, ecomonic status or any other factor. Please see sosjinternational.org for more information.
Please donate to support palliative care in Ontario Communities.
Consider joining us for our Virtual Fun/Run Walk for Palliative Care. As we may not have our physical event, we are inviting runners/walkers/bikers/wheelers to run/walk/bike/wheel 5km and send a photo to firstname.lastname@example.org. Every registered participant who does, will receive a medal via snail mail!
