Covid-19 has been a difficult experience for everyone, but those hit especially hard has been individuals experiencing homelessness.
The North Shore Men's Shelter is responsible for keeping over 30 men safe, warm, and feed daily during the winter months.
In order to keep the men safe from Covid-19, the difficult decision was made to close the North Shore Men's Shelter this winter. While this is a necessary sacrifice, it is terrible to imagine what the men are currently experiencing during this brutally cold New York winter.
This is why my best friend, Luke Lambropoulos, and I are running the 4x4x48 challenge to raise funds and awareness for the Men's Sheltering Project. Any and all donations can aid in the implementation of Covid protocols to reopen the shelter and continue to keep those struggling in our community safe and protected.
The 4x4x48 challenge, created by former Navy Seal David Goggins, entails running 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours. When all is said and done, it will be a total of 48 miles.
I will be starting at 8:00 am EST on March 5th.
Luke will be starting at 8:00 pm EST on March 5th
While this will be a difficult experience, it is nothing compared to what the guests of the shelter must go through daily to survive.
Any amount donated is tremendously appreciated and 100% will go to improving the quality of life in our community.
