Communitopia, a nonprofit in Pittsburgh, PA, is hard at work educating and empowering youth from environmental justice communities to take action on climate change. Some of our students planned a Youth Climate Ride as a fundraiser this June, but the pandemic put an end to those plans.
Now, more than ever, is a time for re-imagining. While the students were excited to rally together and ride for a cause, it is no longer safe for a group. Therefore, our Executive Director and her partner will bike 150 miles on the Great Allegheny Passage Trail from July 8-10 to raise money for youth climate activism in Southwestern PA.
At Communitopia, 100% of expended resources go directly to programs and services that support youth working for a cleaner future. We teach our students that one small, individual action, repeated by thousands, has a profound impact on the planet. Every action counts, and every penny helps!
With tremendous gratitude,
