Dear Friends of 3S,
2020 continues to be a year like no other. Please know that we are thinking about you, wishing you well, and will be raising a heartfelt toast of thanks to you this Thanksgiving. We could not be more grateful for the support that you have extended to 3S Artspace this year. Thank you.
As a new language about “essential and non-essential services” began to enter our everyday language, you showed up with affirmation and inspiration. You joined us every step of the way as we reimagined ways to build community through the contemporary arts. You showed us that the arts are essential to your daily lives and that 3S Artspace holds a special place in the community you treasure.
From your early support of our #TogetherAgain campaign to help us discover new ways to experience artist exhibitions virtually (special thanks to Matterport and Raka Creative!), you were there. When we changed the profile of our Loading Dock Concert Series, offering a safe, seated, outdoor space to experience a well-needed dose of live music, you were there. (Selling out all 24 concerts!) When our Gallery reopened for in-person visitation in late July, some of you stopped by in person just to say how much this meant to you and that you would never take this seemingly simple experience for granted. Record sales during this exhibition benefited individual artists and 3S Artspace alike. Once again, you were there.
We have been both humbled and emboldened by your support. You make it possible for us to step up and share the message that we still need your help and we see a light at the end of the tunnel. Returning to indoor capacity will take time, but we can finally see that reality on the horizon. If you are able to contribute during this year’s annual appeal, your gift will help to not only see us through a challenging winter of reduced programming and reduced revenue, but to assist nonprofit peers with live-streamed fundraisers, launch new programs, and set the stage for a fabulous summer.
It is only thanks to you that we look forward to the coming year with the hope, confidence, and determination that this challenge demands. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization, still facing the temporary closure of our public Performance Space, we still need you to be there. We need your strong support to ensure we can continue to serve artists and audiences in meaningful and joyful ways.
If you are able- please, join us, and make a tax-deductible contribution today. The only way forward is #ForwardTogether. Thank you.
With wishes for a healthy and restorative New Year,
Beth Falconer, Executive Director
