It's been nearly 5 years since our sweet Kacie passed away from Hodgkin's Lymphoma after battling this form of blood cancer for over two years. She had just turned 28 the month prior.
Every 3 minutes, one person is diagnosed with blood cancer. Every 9 minutes, someone dies from it.
But there is hope. Survival rates for many of those with blood cancer have doubled, tripled, or even quadrupled since the 1960s. Today, 1.3 million people are living with, or are in remission from, some form of blood cancer.
Last year, our family decided to create a fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) to support blood cancer treatment research. We were humbled and inspired by the amount of support, encouragement, and love from all those who donated, and were able to raise over $6,000 for the LLS!
This year marks the 2nd Annual Team Kacie May Run For LLS. Our family and friends will be running in the America's Finest City Half Marathon & 5K in San Diego on August 18, and we are hoping to raise even more than last year!
We lost our beloved Kacie, but with your help we can support the improvement of blood cancer treatments and the discovery of cures.
