Crawlz for Alz is a bar crawl at the beautiful Jersey Shore. Our mission is to raise money and awareness about Alzheimer's Disease as we crawl our way down the Seaside Boardwalk. Proceeds benefit Hilarity for Charity, a charity where funds are directed to help families struggling with Alzheimer’s care, increase support groups nationwide, and fund cutting edge research.
The first crawl was last year in March 2018 and we raised $2400 for the cause. It was a fun day full of amazing supportive people.
The 2nd annual crawl will take place on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. We will start/meet at the Saw Mill bar and spend about an hour at each bar. We intend to go to (5 total-Saw Mill, BeachComber, Jax Garage, Spicys and Jr's). Each person who is interested in crawling will have to make a $20 donation. You can either make a donation right online through our page or bring cash or check when you arrive. Checks should be made out to Hilarity for Charity. If you donate online, please put your name so I can mark you for the bar crawl.
We also ask people to spread the word and get outside donations to our cause from friends, family, etc. You can simply share our link.
Many people have been affected by this disease in so many different ways. My family has had two people which have been taken away from us by Alzheimers. My father's mother, Gram, as we all called her was a beautiful proud Irish woman. She loved to travel, sing, and be around her family. My mother's father, or Pop-pop to his 25 grandchildren, was a strong, happy, intelligent man. He loved crosswords, the beach, and his family. Watching these people I knew and loved slip away and become a shell of the person they were, was awful.
Everyday more and more families become affected by this disease. We have to start YESTERDAY raising awareness and money to help support these families, find cures and beat this disease. Join our fight! #ENDALZ
***Please remember this is a Bar Crawl, people have to be 21 to consume alcohol and we want everyone to be safe. Please have a designated driver or use Uber or Lyft apps.
