Hello family and friends!
I would truly appreciate your support for 261 Fearless, a global social running network that empowers women to take control of their lives through the freedom gained by running. 261 Fearless has put together a team of women to run the 2020 Boston Marathon. I am honored to be a member of this esteemed group. We were brought together by Kathrine Switzer, the first woman to run and finish the Boston Marathon in 1967, a time when women were not welcome. She overcame the barrier and has been helping women overcome barriers since!
The mission of 261 Fearless resonates with me so strongly because, as some of you who have been in my life since that time are aware, I was an overweight kid. I lacked confidence in myself, especially regarding any physical endeavors. After turning to walking and then running (VERY slowly!) in my 40s, I have learned that I am capable of almost anything I commit myself to pursue. Now I want to help other people who may doubt themselves to realize just how much they are capable of achieving!
Getting on my feet and moving forward is therapeutic for me, helping me through losing a parent, changing careers and other life transitions. Please consider helping us help other women to fuel their fearless and rise up from fearful situations. All donations are greatly appreciated!
